Paper Scales as Texture with Hollie Chastain Workshop Registration

Artist Hollie Chastain joins Colossal for a virtual workshop on paper scaling, or the process of cutting small, rounded forms from the humble material. During our hour-long session, Chastain will teach techniques for adding texture, shadow, and dimension to both a solid color and portrait and offer tips and additional modifications to use on future projects.

  • Glue stick
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Colored paper for texture practice
  • Three (3) identical portraits for portrait practice

About Hollie Chastain

Hollie Chastain is a mixed-media artist and illustrator working in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Coming from both a graphic design and studio art background, she creates work with a storytelling quality, mixing found materials, strong graphic elements, and modern palettes. As well as teaching workshops across the country, she maintains a home studio producing both personal work and client work. Her first book, If You Can Cut You Can Collage, was released in November 2017 through Quarto Publishing.
