The Lap Easel

The Lap Easel is a portable, adjustable support that sits comfortably on your lap or tabletop. It's perfect for a multitude of creative activities: drawing and painting, reading books and magazines, writing, relaxing with a screen, holding a cookbook, and more. Its strong and lightweight design allows for five angled height settings, reducing hand and neck fatigue.

From birch plywood and select solid maple, birch, cherry, and other native hardwoods, each Lap Easel is made by hand in small batches by local Chicago maker and designer, Bill Groot.

• Includes protective cotton tote bag.
• Non-skid rubber pads on the bottom to protect surfaces.
• Dimensions: 14"W x 12"H x 1.5 inches when closed. Opens to five different angle settings, approximately 20—70 degrees.
• ~ 1" inch depth.
• Can hold a larger drawing pad or panel.
• Made of birch plywood and select solid maple, birch, cherry, and other native hardwoods. No metal fasteners or hardware.
• Clear satin water-base urethane finish
